Ellen "Christine" Barden, 74 of Wooster, AR went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17th, 2023, in Conway, Arkansas.
She was Born December 6th, 1948, in Formosa, AR to Dewey and Norene Gilmore.
Christine is proceeded in death by her parents; and brothers, Doyce Gilmore, and Albert Gilmore.
Christine is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dan Barden; son, Dewayne Barden; daughter, Christy (Chad) Edwards; five grandchildren, her #1, Brittany (Jared) Barron, Baylee Barden, Courtney (Justin) Henley, Hunter (Lexy) Barden, Savannah Bennett; seven great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Gilmore, whom was her fishing buddy. Numerous nephews, nieces, friends, and family.
Christine graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. The following Sunday after graduation, she married the love of her life, her being 17 and him 18, and together they built a beautiful life. After they married, they moved to Wooster. They moved to other various towns but moved back to Wooster in 1979.
Having worked at Virco for many years, she left and went to work at Kimberly Clark, where she made many, many good friends. Before retiring from K.C. she and her daughter opened Jamaica Me Tan, where you could find her chit chatting it up with customers. She loved to sit and talk to everyone. She never met a stranger.
Back in the early 90's she loved to yard sale. She would get her newspaper and would circle the sales she wanted to go to first, second, and so on. If you went on Saturday's, you were sure to see her!
Christine loved her family up to the very end, but ultimately the most important love was her love for the Lord. She loved Him so much, that when He called her name, she ran to Him, free from pain, from cancer, sickness, and sorrow.
It brings us great comfort to know that she is FREE!
Christine's service will be held at The House of Prayer on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10:00am, and a visitation Monday evening, August 21, 2023 from 6-8:00pm.
