DERRICK, Finetta FARRAR - Mrs. Finetta Farrar Derrick died at her home in Cave Springs on May 26th, 1928 at the age of seventy-six years. She was an old resident of Benton County having lived here since 1855 at which time she moved with her parents from Bedford County, Tenn. to Benton County. Finetta Farrar was born in Bedford County, Tenn. on November 5th, 1851 and was married to J.W.E. Derrick on October 3rd, 1871. She was a member of the M.E. Church, South, uniting with that denomination early in life. She had lived a devoted Christian life until her death. She leaves surviving to mourn her departure one sister, Mrs. Sophronia Garrison of Butte, Mont.; two brothers: Council Farrar of Los Angeles, Cal. and Quantrell Farrar of Nez Perce, Idaho; and a foster son, Lee Derrick of Elm Springs.

(from Cave Springs) Aunt Net Derrick, as we all know her, was found dead Sunday morning, laying on the floor. Heart trouble was pronounced the cause of her death. Finette Farrar Derrick was born in Bedford County, Tennessee November 5, 1851 and came to Benton county with her parents in the fall of 1855, being at that time four years old. She was married to J.W.E. Derrick on October 3, 1871. To this union were born no children. She was a member of the M.E. Church, South, uniting with that church in early life and living a devoted Christian life until her death which occurred at her home in Cave Springs, Ark. May 26, 1928, being 76 years, six months and 21 days old. She leaves to mourn her departure one foster son, Lee Derrick of Elm Springs; a sister, Mrs. Saphronia Garrison, Butte, Montana; and two brothers, Council Farrar, Los Angeles, California and Wantrel Farrar of near Pierce, Idaho, besides a host of relatives and friends who will miss her. Those who knew her best loved her most. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock by Walter Sherman and Doweram of Elm Springs. Burial was made at Elm Springs by the side of her husband.
