Jake "Bob" Hatfield, 72, Rt. 4, Fayetteville, died March 17 in a Fayetteville hospital following an extended illness. Born April 21, 1905, at Sparta, Tenn., he was the son of Noah and Minnie Shugart Hatfield and was co-owner and operator of Fayetteville Tire Exchange Co. He was a member of Mt. Comfort Presbyterian Church and since retiring acquired farming interests. He served on the Washington County Farm Bureau Board.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine Dowell Hatfield to whom he was married July 26, 1922; two sons, William Hatfield of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Bobby Hatfield of Farmington; two brothers, Roy Hatfield of Gravette and Herbert Hatfield of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mt. Comfort Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Comfort Presbyterian Church.
