Salli Summer Sexton Reding, 37 of Hot Springs, Arkansas died on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Mercy Hospital with her family and friends at her side after a long courageous battle with cancer. Salli Summer was born on June 12, 1976 and is survived by her parents Gary and Clyda Sexton of the home along with her sons Austin Davis and Trusten Wooten. She is also survived by two brothers Cole Moore and Dru Sexton of Hot Springs, and her sister Shannon Ore of Lynchburg, VA. She also is survived by her nephew Colton Moore and niece Hannah Sexton. Salli is also survived by her Uncle Jack and Aunt Flo McMahan and Uncle Mike and Aunt Jan Sexton along with her cousins Dr. Gary McMahan, Dr. Cathi McMahan, Laura McMahan Darling, Shelley Green, Wendy Moore, Joe McMahan, Michelle McMahan, Tim McMahan, Heather McMahan Vale, Steven Crone, Greg Crone, and Suzanne Sexton. Survivors also include the Dr. Jim McMahan Family, the Dick Holden Family, the Kay Spurlin Family, the Judy Castleberry Family, the Van and Gary Fox Families. Salli Summer graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1994 where she was a Cheerleader, a gymnast, and a Hot Springs Debutante in 1995. Salli Summer worked as Security Officer for Sears, JC Penney and later the Security Director at the Hot Springs Mall. She owned her own private investigator firm, Summer Investigations. After that she was named deputy for the Garland County Sheriff’s Department until her illness no longer allowed her to work. We will all miss that warm smile that would light up the room and the caring, loving heart that displayed so much courage. Salli leaves behind many friends and family including her special friends Shannon Steed, Alicia Sorrells, Michelle Conlin, LeAnn Smith Tolleson, Suzanne Brizendine, Amy Samuels, and Lynn Keith-Wellisch. Preceding her in death were her grandparents Clyde and Helen McMahan, Catherine Langley and Cliff Sexton. Also numerous aunts and uncles including Rex and Janet McMahan, Major McMahan, Carolyn McKenna McMahan, and Joe McMahan. Services are scheduled at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers are all members of the Garland County Sheriff Office and are Sgt. Matt Wharton, Sgt. Sunny Miller, Sgt. Richard Huffman, Corporal Scott Kleusner, Cpt. Ronnie Branstetter, and Cpt. Lonzo Dunn. A memorial fund has been set up at Bank of Ozarks for her sons; or donations may be made to any cancer research center.
