Carolyn M. Neff, age 72, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at her residence.

She was born May 24, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Charles Bernard and Margaret Anne McGarvey Mallon. On February 14, 1982, she married James R. Neff in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Neff had three Masters Degrees and had served as a parochial school principal in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She worked for the Union Standard Insurance Company in Dallas and retired in 1996 from The Hartford in San Antonio, Texas, as the Director of Human Relations. She moved to Mountain Home in November, 1998, from San Antonio.

After retiring to Mountain Home, Mrs. Neff was an active volunteer in the community. She helped with the Crowley quads, served in the Mountain Home Christian Clinic, Pregnancy Resource Center, and the Baxter Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church where she led the Rosary before Sunday Masses, was president for two years of the Council of Catholic Women and also served as State President of the Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors are her husband: Jim Neff: of the home; three stepchildren: Jimi (Susanne) Neff: Santa Cruz, California; Jennifer (Enrico) Pasqualini: Dublin, California; and Natalie Neff: Dayton, Ohio; two brothers: Charles Bernard (Terri) Mallon: Bristow, Virginia, and Michael (Sue) Mallon: Ninety Six, South Carolina; one sister: Anne (Tom) Cosgrove: Towson, Maryland; one step-granddaughter: Hanna Pasqualini and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Concelebrants of the Mass will be Most Reverend Anthony B. Taylor, Bishop of Little Rock; Reverend Msgr. Scott Friend; Reverend Stan Swiderski and Reverend Christopher Okeke. Entombment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Roller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
