FAYETTEVILLE — Faye Maureen Doege, age 77, a resident of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Fayetteville.

Faye was born in Prairie Grove, Ark., on Nov. 21, 1934, to Tom and Mildred (Cannon) Lavender. Faye was a member of the Poet's Round Table of Arkansas and she enjoyed writing poetry and prose, bowling, and she loved her cat, Freckles.

Preceded in death by her parents, Faye is survived by one son, Eric Doege and wife, Kathy Poore, of Fayetteville; two brothers, Jerry Lavender and wife, Sally, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bill Lavender and wife, Nancy, of New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren, Sarah Doege of Madison, Wis., Jana Doege of Pittsburgh, Pa., Karl Doege of Denver, Colo.; former spouse, Hans K. Doege of Prairie Grove, Ark.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Internment services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Washington Regional Hospice (34 Colt Square Drive, Fayetteville, AR 72703; 479-463-7385) or the Humane Society of the Ozarks (1020 S. One Mile Road, Fayetteville, AR 72704; 479-444-PETS) in honor of Faye Maureen Doege.
