Ruth L. Slaughter, age 78, of Midway, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home. She was born July 2, 1936 in Van Wert, Ohio to Clyde Ernest and Edna E. (Cole) Youtsey. She married Vernon Slaughter in Blytheville, Arkansas in 1960.
Mrs. Slaughter is survived by two sons; Johnnie Lee Birt (Rose) of Midway, Arkansas, Nick R. Parsons(Connie) of Maumee, Ohio, two daughters; Valarie J. Jesse (Gilbert) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Bonnie J. Swan (Guy) of Midway, Arkansas, one step-son; Al Slaughter (Melinda) of Lima, Ohio, three step-daughters; Pat Hunt of St. Louis, Missouri, Linda Marie Vermillion (Jerry) of Lima, Ohio, Robin Lauck of Belavista, Ohio, 19 grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, John Connelly of Bull Shoals. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernon Slaughter, one son, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at Roller Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. A visitation will be Friday from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
