SPRINGDALE — Vance Frando Harp, 68, of Springdale, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Fayetteville Health and Rehab, following complications from surgery. Vance was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Springdale, to the late Frando and Annis Harp.

He installed the first cable television system for people living east of Springdale. He owned and operated the system for several years. He was the owner of Antenna Electronics. Vance attended the House of Worship in Hindsville, where he was an active member, involved in the building of the church. He played the piano and organ until his health would no longer allow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joey Harp; brother, Paul Harp; and sister, Dolores Lankford.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Morgan Harp of Springdale; brother, Phillip Harp and wife, Gladys Harp, of Springdale; sisters, Pauline Evans of Coalinga, Calif., Allene Scroggins and husband, Audie, of Springdale, and Juanita Jackson and husband, Harry, of Fayetteville. He is also survived by extended family, John Marrs and wife, Jennifer, of Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. 2011, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale, with the Rev. Mike Montgomery officiating.
