Husband of Virginia Mae McCoy
Arvis Leon McCoy, 64, of Route 1, Box 92, Wesley, Ark., died Dec. 15, 1993, at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1929, at Wesley, the son of Autis Elmer "Dink" and Roie McChristian McCoy. He was the owner and operator of McCoy's Service Station and was a member of the Huntsville Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Dirl Keith McCoy.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virginia Denney McCoy of the home; one son, Michael McCoy of Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Sloan of Huntsville; his mother, Mrs. Roie McCoy of Huntsville; one grandson, Matthew McCoy of Huntsville; and three granddaughters, Miss Teresa Sloan, Miss Tracy Sloan and Mrs. Lara McCoy, all of Huntsville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Spurlock officiating. Interment was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Johnny Walker, Gene Brown, Steve Drake, J.B. Canion, Lewis Burks, and Virl Sloan. Honorary pallbearers were C.N. Watson, J.T. Griggs, Jasper Harriman, Jim Tipton, Derald Parks, and Bert Mitchell.
