GAMBLE, Everett - Died, December 31st, 1912 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Gamble, near Centerton, Ark., Everett Gamble, aged 20 years and nine months. Deceased was the eldest child and eldest son of a family of eight children - four sons and four daughters. On the first of September last he entered as a student in the Springfield Business College. He stood high in his class and in the estimation of his instructors. He desired to spend the holidays at home. The day before he left Springfield he became suddenly and seriously ill, growing rapidly worse on the way home - so much so he did not recognize his loved ones when he met them. His disease, in the face of all that faithful and skillful physicians and tender, loving nurses could do, bore him steadily and rapidly down to the end. The day before his death he became perfectly rational for quite awhile; talked calmly of dying; told them all good-bye and begging them to take his death in humble submission. The funeral service, held in the Methodist Church in Centerton, was attended by a large congregation, everyone of whom seemed to be in tenderest sympathy and condolence for the bereaved and disconsolate family and kindred. The remains rest in the Centerton Cemetery by the side of a younger brother who had gone before. He is survived by his devoted parents, four precious and amiable sisters and two loving brothers, one of them, the baby, in sweetest and tenderest childhood. May the all-sufficient grace and the comforting spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ rest upon the bereft family and friends. P. Carnahan.
