ROGERS - Barbara S. Barbee of Rogers, Ark., passed away May 30, 2013. She was born to Jess and Mary Siders on Sept. 30, 1934, in Oklahoma City.

She married Ralph Barbee on Oct. 18, 1952. They were the parents of David Barbee (Rogers) and Liz Barbee (Boise). When they were needed, they opened heart and home to three nieces and four nephews. They have three granddaughters and one grandson, as well as two great-grandsons.

Ralph preceded her in death on April 12, 2013. Barbara assistant-taught remedial reading in Neodesha, Kan., for several years. She then owned and managed Barb's Boutique there until they moved to Rogers in 1985.

Barbara has had various roles in women's ministry for nearly 50 years. She used to say "Pretty is as pretty does," and for years she has mentored young girls and women both formally and informally in the secrets of outer beauty, and the importance of inner beauty. Barbara was a teacher, fashion buyer, makeup artist, seamstress, gardener, homemaker and encourager.

The family would like to thank the very caring and competent staff of Visiting Angels, Circle of Life Hospice, and Jamestown Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with a funeral service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 3364 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, AR 72756; 479-636-3451. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark. www.rollinsfuneral.com.
