ROGERS — Harold L. Webster, 76, of Rogers, passed away Feb. 27, 2012, in Springdale. He was born Sept. 15. 1935, in Rogers, the son of Roy and Evelyn Johnson Webster.
Harold graduated from Rogers High School in 1953 and then graduated from Bethany Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla. He started his ministry in music before becoming an associate pastor and senior pastor for the Church of the Nazarene. He ministered churches in Springdale and Jonesboro, Ark.; St. Louis, Mo.; Canton and Rush, Ohio. He served in the US. Naval Reserves.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Helen Webster; and one son, Kenneth Leroy (Ken) Webster.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene Guss Webster of the home; son, Shawn A. Webster of Senecaville, Ohio; daughter, Belynda D. Helton and husband James of Rogers; and daughter, Cheyenne Nelson; his brother, Dale Webster and wife, Janie, of Rogers; two grandsons, Micah and Andrew Gammill, whom he and Irene raised; one great-grandson, Kelten Taylor Gammill; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Mayfield and husband, James, of Rogers, and Bobbye Robbins and husband, George, of Huntsville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Colonial Baptist Church in Rogers, with Pastor Claud Slate and Pastor Alan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rogers Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Baptist Church, 1599 W. Olive, Rogers, AR 72756. Online condolence www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
