Death Claims Aged Citizen of Mt Olive

Roland H. Hanks, pioneer citizen of Mount Olive, died Monday, after an illness of several days. His death occurred at Paragould, where he had been spending some time visiting with his daughter.

Deceased was 86 years of age, and had a wide acquaintance over Izard and Stone Counties.
Besides numerous relatives and a host of friends, deceased is survived by three sons, Rupert of Kansas City, Ray of Batesville, Shelby Hanks of Calico Rock; eight daughters, Mrs Bertie McGinniss of Kansas City, Mrs Alma Houston and Mrs Jeffie Harris of Paragould, Mrs Bessie Hayden of Boswell, Mrs Nina Mae Steinart of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs Lena G. Combs of Calico Rock, Mrs Jessamine Jeffery and Mrs Ernestine Jeffery of Mt Olive.
The funeral was held at Mt Olive Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, interment being in Mt Olive Cemetery.
