Lawrence J. Brooks Passes Away Tuesday

Lawrence J. Brooks aged 58, brother of the editor of the Progress, died Tuesday evening in the home of his sister, Mrs Pearl Dixon, at Mount Olive. His death came after suffering the third stroke of paralysis in fourteen months. Deceased was born at Mammoth Spring and his early life was spent there and at Salem. He had been a resident of Mount Olive for thirty-five years. Funeral service were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Mount Olive, services being conducted by Rev. D. R. Robertson, the pastor. Interment in the Mt Olive cemetery. Surviving, are the sister and four brothers, H. Cebern Brooks and Ralph Brooks of Little Rock, Neill Brooks of Calico Rock and Harry Brooks of Detroit, Michigan.
