*CEMETERY NOTES

Epperson Cemetery
Pope County,
Arkansas

The Forest Service built a small food plot that still has a walnut tree out in the middle. These two graves were located on the crest above the creek.

Mr. Epperson died and the creek was to high to cross to get to the cemetery, His wife died within a few days and was also buried on the old homestead. The two graves were to your left upon entering the food plot, but since the building of the food plot, the rocks marking the graves was pushed out and never replaced.

*Directions: From the junctions of highway 27 & 164 in Scottsville, go northeast on 164 for 4.8 miles to the bridge over North Fork on the Illinois Bayou. Walk north up the old road to the Old Clark Goates homeplace about 1/4 mile.

*Our County Coordinator attempted to locate this cemetery when she photographed Brock Cemetery in February 2014, and sadly reports this cemetery is no longer around.
