Mrs. Mabel I. Sartain Loyd, 89, of Conway died Tuesday (Feb. 9, 1999) at Heritage Living Center.
Born Feb. 24, 1909, in Grandfalls, Texas, a daughter of James and Laura Belle Portello Skelton, she was the widow of Bob Loyd and a nurse's aide and homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Sartain; two sisters, Anita Hardman and Gladys Skelton; and five brothers, P. W. Skelton, G. F. Skelton, Bill Skelton, O. D. Skelton and C. N. Skelton.
Survivors are a sister, Vera Skelton Morris of Channing, Texas; two brothers, Dwight Skelton of Watsonville, Calif.(cq), and Merle "Tuffy" Skelton of Barstow, Texas; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Thessing officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Sartain, Mark Sartain, Aaron Sartain and Paul Sartain.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family will also be at 7 Salem Road.
