McCURRY, Grace - The death of Miss Grace McCurry on Saturday night at six o'clock was sad news to the many friends who, while they knew her condition was serious still had hopes for her ultimate recovery. Her death was caused by typhoid fever and she had been sick just seventeen days. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the M.E. church, South of which deceased was a member. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.H. O'Bryant. The deceased was 17 years old on July 14th and was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.C. McCurry She came here with her parents from Washington almost two years ago. The family were in Washington only a short time, having gone there from Huntsville, Madison county, where the deceased was born. Last year she attended Rogers Academy and was a bright student and popular with teachers and associates. She took an active interest in the work of her church, having united with it at the age of ten. She had been filling the position of organist for some time past. Her death is a great blow to both friends and parents and the heartfelt sympathy of all goes out to the latter in the hour of their sad bereavement.
