In downtown Oppelo if you make your way toward Morrilton, Arkansas on the left is Arthur V. Ormond lock and dam turnoff and 'Charlie's Hidden Harbor'. Turn left down this road and keep right when the road forks. You will eventually come into Sequoya Park which is divided into two parts, the RV park on the left and the picnic area on the right. On the right side you'll notice there is a wooded area with a stream. On the other side of this wooded area is an abandoned 150 year old cemetery called Hallett. The last burial was in 1909 I think, there are about 30 plus graves out there. You'll see at the far corner of the wooded area is a path with a boulder there, if you take this path into the woods and keep right and keep going down the path on the left about sixty or seventy feet in the woods on a hill is the cemetery under dense brush. Most of the graves are in this area but for some weird reason on the far left of there are two graves alone.

*Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Hallett Cemetery is located in the Riverview area. The Hallett's owned land in this area and most likely the cemetery began as a Hallett family cemetery on their own land. The cemetery mainly contains graves for the Hallet and Higgins families. There are also burials for the McLemore family and at least one for Comstock.

The Higgins are related to the Hallet's through marriage. Isabel Hallett married William Van (Bill) Higgins thus creating a link between the Halletts and the Higgins. Rebecca Comstock may have been the daughter of Parhara McLemore from a previous marriage which would establish the link between McLemore and Comstock. Is is unknown how the McLemore and Hallett families were connected.

Additional Info from Euna Beavers:
A good portion of Hallett Cemetery washed away many years ago during a flood of the Arkansas River. What is left is just a portion of the cemetery. There are many indications of unmarked graves. This cemetery was started as the Hallett family cemetery on Hallett land.
