J. Dot the son of Benjamin Franklin Foley and Fannie (Pickett) Foley. Gladys daughter of John Napolean Lee Winters and Mary Althea Samantha (Whitlow) Winters Turnbow.

Dotty and Vickie are J. Dot and Gladys' daughters.

J. Dot Foley

J. Dot Foley, 93, of Smithville, died March 14, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 22, 1916, in Smithville, he was the son of Ben and Fannie Pickett Foley. He was a carpenter and a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Winters Foley, whom he married June 25, 1941, in Black Rock; two daughters, Peggy Ruth Foley and Sue Davis; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include four children, Dotty A. Foley and Vicki Foley, both of Jonesboro, Ben A. Foley and wife Lisa, Walnut Ridge, and Danny W. Foley and wife Teresa, Smithville; a sister, Gladys F. Justice, Heber Springs; and three grandchildren, Brittany F. George, Spencer Foley and Shyanne Foley.

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. James Guthrie, Sonny Simpson and Jerry Clements officiating. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Jerry R. Foley, Harold Foley, David Foley, Dale Foley, Bobby Lo Justice and Steve Oliver. Honorary pallbearers were Miles A. Oliver, Jimmy Oliver, Glenn Oliver, Kenneth Oliver, Billy Oliver, Jerry Wayne Oliver, Alex Latham, Edward Bilbrey, Rickey Goff, Charles Goff, Tom Marbry, Dr. Don Hudson and Denny Durham.

Dotty Ann Foley

Dotty Ann Foley, 63, of Jonesboro, died March 26, 2011, at her home.

Born Sept. 12, 1947, in Smithville, she worked for Arkansas State University for 45 years, including serving as secretary to the men's basketball program under coach Nelson Catalina. A reception was held in July 2010 honoring her years of service to the university.

While growing up, she was active in school athletic programs and was recruited by the Redheads basketball team. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Annieville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Dot and Gladys Winters Foley; and two sisters, Sue Foley Davis and Peggy Foley.

Survivors include a sister, Vicki Foley, Jonesboro; and two brothers, Danny Foley and wife Teresa, Smithville, and Ben Foley and wife Lisa, Walnut Ridge.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Annieville with Bro. Jerry Clements and Dr. Donald T. Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Visitation is tonight from 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Catalina, Tommy Holland, Leighton McCrary, Michael Covey, Danny Ballard, Jerry Ray Foley, Spencer Foley, Kyle George and Bobby Gross. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the purchasing department at ASU and Cracker Barrell.
