TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Roger J. Andrus, 91, of Go Ye Village in Tahlequah, Okla., died Dec. 13, 2006. He was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Clear Lake, Iowa, to Max and Lucy Potter Andrus.
He graduated from Mora (Minn.) High School in 1933. He married Mary Roth, on Dec. 6, 1939. He attended the University of Minnesota, Northwestern Bible College and Arizona Bible College. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1946. He was affiliated with Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo., for 27 years. He later served as president of Calvary Bible College for 17 years. He was a field representative for International Missions for two years and was pastor of Community Bible Church in Omaha, Neb., from 1976 to 1982. He and his wife moved to Eureka Springs in 1982. He filled the pulpit at Calvary Bible Church in Rogers, for two years and shared the pulpit ministry at Lone Star Bible Church in Eureka Springs. They moved to Siloam Springs in 1997 and were members of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church for nine years before moving to Tahlequah.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three sons, Joel Andrus of Indianola, Iowa, Dr. Michael Andrus of Wichita, Kan., and David Andrus of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Anna Jones of Siloam Springs and Mary Stoy of Germantown, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; four foster grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with the Rev. John Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
