Obituary - Joyce Marie Ricks, 73, of Hamburg died Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at her residence. A native of Drew County, she had resided in Hamburg for the past 30 years. She was a retired seamstress with WAM Industries and was a Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, Glen Carpenter and wife Martha of Livingston, TX, Dale Carpenter and wife Mary of Warren and David Carpenter of Monticello; three step-sons, Ronald Ricks and wife Bonnie and Donald Ricks and wife Carol, all of Hamburg, and Derrell Ricks and wife Christina of Snyder; three daughters, Shirley Naron and husband Clifton of West Monroe, LA, Nancy Smith of Crossett and Cynthia Murphy and husband Dennis of Hamburg; one step-daughter, Sheila White and husband Frankie of Snyder; two brothers, Boyd Naron and wife Naron of Monticello and Leroy Naron and wife Karen of Alabama; two sisters, Niner Cameron and husband Grady of Mt. Ida and Dorothy Pledger and husband George of Caddo Valley; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Ricks; her parents, Claude and Linnie Griffin Naron; one brother, Richard Naron; two grandsons, Brin Ricks and Phillip Collinsworth; and a son-in-law, Roger Smith.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 8, at 2 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder with Rev. Warren Finney officiating. Burial was at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Ronnie Kelley, Ronald Ricks, Donald Ricks, Derrell Ricks, Frankie White, Dale Caine, Eric Ricks and Buddy Tanksley.
