Obituary - Hazel Leoleau Smith Bell, 93, of Sheridan, who was born September 17, 1914, in Madisonville, LA, to the late James Benjamin and Rosalena Littlejohn Smith, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at the Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was a member of North Main Baptist Church in Sheridan and an avid gardener having a passion for flowers, especially daylilies.
Survivors are sons Donald Bell and wife Kathryn of Sheridan, Kermit Bell, Jr., of Sheridan, John Bell and wife Jackie of Little Rock, Robert Bell and wife JoAnn of Fulton, MD, and Earl Bell and wife Carol of Wilson, NC; daughters, Anita Stine and husband Bill of Ocala, Florida, Wanda Adams and husband Charles of Collierville, TN, Dr. Sherlyn Larrison and husband Jim of Pierre Part, LA, Helen Johnson and husband Bob of Jonesboro; and Patty Pierini and husband Phillip of Lake Village; a sister, Helen Chaney of Bastrop, LA; 22 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren; In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Otto Bell, a daughter, Hazel Marie Bell, and a brother, Herman Smith.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Snyder Cemetery in Snyder, Arkansas.
