HEGWOOD, Elizabeth ROLLER - The funeral of Mrs. John Hegwood, who died at her home in this city last Wednesday, January 7th at 11 a.m., was held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the residence and was conducted by Rev. Clark Bland of Larue, assisted by Rev. U.S. Thomas of the First Baptist church. Burial was in the city cemetery A large number of friends and relatives came to attend the funeral. The deceased was born in Barry county, Mo. November 23, 1850 and her maiden name was Elizabeth Roller. She was married to John H. Hegwood, who survives her, January 19, 1893. They lived on the farm near Larue until 1907 when they moved to Rogers. She joined the Missionary Baptist church at an early age but later in life united with the New Hope Freewill Baptist church near Lame. She was a Christian woman of many splendid virtues and her step children all unite in saying that no mother could have been kinder and that she had filled their mother's place as they had never expected it could be filled. Mrs. Hegwood is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Frank Hendricks of Prairie Creek, Mrs. Wm. Bandy of Pea Ridge, Mrs. Amanda Smith of Eagle Rock, Mo. and Miss Julia Roller, who lived with her here; also by five brothers, Henry Geo. and Maurice Roller of Barry county and Jim and Lee Roller of Pea Ridge. All were here for the funeral save Maurice and Mrs. Smith. The bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community.

HEGWOOD, Mrs. John - Mrs. John Hegwood died yesterday morning at her home in the southwest part of town after a long illness, the result of dropsy of the heart. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at two o'clock. Burial in the city cemetery. Mrs. Hegwood has resided in this county for many years and the family is one of the best known in Walnut and War Eagle townships, where there are many relatives.
