Obituary- Betty Ann Pardon, 77, of Hamburg died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Kansas City, Kansas, a resident of Hamburg for the past 10 years and a former resident of Wilmot and Rison, she was a homemaker and a member of the Gardner Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Gary Pardon of Bastrop, Louisiana; a daughter, Gloria McCrory and husband Earl of Hamburg; two grandchildren, Robert Earl McCrory and wife Stacey and Melissa McCrory; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Fallon and Payton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Pardon, in 2002 and her parents, Hardy & Dollie Orr Haeslip.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 12, in the Gardner Baptist Church with Rev. Cilff Bernard officiating. Burial followed at the Snyder Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shane Griffin, Danny Pardon, Rick Geuyant, Billy Sarrell, Casey Taylor and Jimmy Peden. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Maxwell, Dennis Byrd and Bobby Ferguson. Memorials may be made to the Snyder Cemetery Association, c/o Sue Bailey, 1977 Holmes Road, Searcy, AR 72143 or to the Gardner Baptist Church, P. O. Box 506, Hamburg, AR 71646. Arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Obituary- Mr. Robert D. Pardon, 73, of Hamburg died Saturday, October 19, 2002, at his residence north of Hamburg. A native of Drew County and a Hamburg resident for the past seven months, he was a former resident of Rison, Wilmot and Boydell. He was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Rison. An U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a thirty-second degree Mason and Past Master of Portland Lodge No. 499, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Martha Hartless Pardon.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty A. Haeslip Pardon of Hamburg; children Gary Doyle Pardon of Wilmot and Gloria and Earl McCrory of Hamburg; two brothers, James Pardon of Rison and Malcom Pardon of Tillar; three sisters, Dorothy Lee Beaton of Boydell, and Helen Davis and Mary Baxter of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren, Robert Earl and Melissa McCrory; three great-grandchildren, Fallon Diane Dawyer, Matthew McCrory and Payton Kelley.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel in Hamburg with Revs. E. W. Ricks and Bill Davidson officiating. Pallbearers were to be Billy Ferrell, Ricky Guyant, Buck Cook, David Burns, Archie Walker, Franklin Ricks, Albert Brown and Jerry Dale Stratton. Burial was to follow services at the Snyder Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 170 Dunkeffie Road, Rison AR 71665; the Snyder Cemetery, c/o Mrs. Jane Graves, P. O. Box 264, Hamburg, AR 71646 or to Hospice Home Care, 455 West Gaines Street, Monticello, AR 71655.
