Mrs. Mayrene Morris Rashell, 80, of Crossett died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at her daughter's residence in Crossett. A native of Montrose and a Crossett resident for the past 40 years, she had formerly lived in Portland. She was a beautician for over 38 years, was in the restaurant business for many years, was a certified welder during World War II and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Morris in 1961 and Tom Rashell in 1996; a son, Jimmy Charles Morris, in 1997; her parents, Albert and Allie Mae Higginbotham Blocker; a sister, Cora Blocker; and seven brothers, Wesley, Joseph, Paul, Milton, Connie, Cecil and Jessie Blocker. Survivors are a daughter, Annette M. Fryar and husband Buck of Crossett; a sister, Janie Finch of Louisville, KY; four brothers, Harvey Blocker of Central City, KY, Robert Blocker of Louisville, KY, Percy Blocker of Evansville, IN, and Thomas Blocker of Booneville, IN; five grandchildren, Vickie Inman, Lynda Stuart, Cendie Wells, Sirrom and Kirby Morris; and seven great-grandchildren, Trey, Rocky and Sam Stuart, Falen and Justin Inman, Whitney Wells and Jake Fryar. Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Davis officiating. Pallbearers were to be Bobby, Ronnie, Tab, Bernard and Billy Blocker, Ronnie Stuart, Tom Wells, Mike Inman and Trey Stuart. Burial was to follow services at the Portland Cemetery, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Temple Baptist Church, P. O. Box 716, Crossett, R 71635.
