Jud M. Graham committed suicide last Friday morning at his home just this side of Cross Hollows by swallowing carbolic acid. As soon as he was discovered Dr. W.J. Curry was called, antidotes administered and everything possible done to save his life but he died within a few minutes. He had gone out to the barn about 6:30 a.m. and returning immediately went up to his room and drank about two ounces of the acid. He then laid down upon the bed where he was found too late for any assistance to be rendered. The funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning at 11 0'clock and he was buried at the McDaniel cemetery near Lowell. The deceased was about 26 years old and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Susan Graham, three brothers, Albert, Joe and Ellis, and four sisters, Mrs. Lewi Archer of Idaho, Mrs. Hal Price of St. Louis, and Misses Lucile and Leah Graham. His father, Sebe Graham, died several years ago. The young man was well known in this vicinity as he had lived near Lowell all his life and his sudden death was a great shock to his family and friends.

Judd Graham, a young farmer living near Lowell, committed suicide last Friday morning by swallowing two ounces of carbolic acid. Mr. Graham was twenty-seven years of age and a member of a large and prominent family. Friday morning he asked his mother how much carbolic acid it would take to kill a man and the mother unthinkingly replied that it took about two ounces and within a short time the young man had taken the acid. Medical aid was summoned but before any remedy could be administered he was dead. He had been married but was later divorced and it is thought this was the prime cause of his desire to end his life as since that time he had been subject to frequent periods of despondency. The death of this young man is a great shock to many friends as he was known as a good hearted fellow and was very popular.
