Son of Bobby & India Powell
J.C. Powell, 4, of Montrose died Sunday August 31, 2008, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was a native of Lake Village and a lifelong resident of the Mount Pleasant community east of Hamburg.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby and India Elmore Powell of Montrose; two brothers, Dylan Elmore and Alex Powell, both of Montrose; a sister, Brittany Powell of Sterlington. LA; his maternal grandparents, John & Helen Elmore of Montrose; his paternal grandparents, Bobby & Mary Powell of Bastrop, LA; his maternal great-grandmother, Marteal Tanksley of Hamburg; his paternal step-great-grandmother, Evelyn Lusby of Bastrop, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rhonda Powell.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Miller, Bro. Sammy Land and Bro. Bobby Streeter officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers are to be Tom Henderson, Chris Elmore, Chance Elmore and Dennis King. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com.
