NEWARK, Texas — James A. "Jim" Hopkins, 64, of Newark, Texas, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, in Fort Worth. He was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Tulsa. He was a member of River Church, Tulsa Oklahoma Carpenters Local Union and T.W.U. Transport Union, an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines and a carpenter.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Decatur, Texas, with graveside service at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam.
He is survived by his wife, Billie; two daughters, Yvonne Hopkins of Decatur and Lesa Grumbles of Arlington, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Vaughan of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Jamie Brown of Fort Smith; a sister, Hazel Rogers of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the Arkansas service will be Wayne Fields, Carroll and Junior Hopkins, Christopher Ornelas, Bud Pruitt, Carl Franklin and Jason Carter.
