born 12 Mar 1828 in Indiana and died 2 December 1898 in Franklin Co, AR. Married Lyvy Ann Smothers on 27 July 1847 in Mercer Co, MO; and they were the parents of 13 children. He enlisted in Company D of the 44 Missouri Infantry as a private 21 August 1864 at Princeton, Missouri; & was discharged at St Louis 1 August 1865. Wounded 30 November 1864 at Franklin, Tennessee. Issued a homestead certificate #4968 for 120 acres in Arkansas 27 August 1889. His grave is enclosed in a wire-fenced pen. The Cobb Cemetery is located in the middle of the National Forest and is very difficult to find unless you have a good guide.
