ALLEN, James Lamoreaux - James Lamoreaux, son of Isaac and Caroline Allen, died Feb. 11, 1908 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Otis Geise, Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born at Alton, N.D. He was the third child of a family of eight, five having passed to the paradise of God and three survive him. None of these are able to be here today. Sept. 30, 1857 at Washington Court House, Ohio, he was married to Susan B. McLean who still survives him. Three children were born to them. Two sons, both dying in infancy, and one daughter. Brother Allen, as he was affectionately called by so many, had been an earnest christian for many years. His life and testimony will live in the minds and hearts of many who have testified that their own lives have been made better by knowing him. We are grieved to have him leave us. We are told it is proper for us to weep over bereavement by death. We are sad and lonely, his place is vacant and sacred and ever will be; but we would not recall him. He had passed his three score years and ten. His illness was such that he could not get well, for two years we saw him gradually grow worse. He was always patient and kind. He did not seem to suffer much but often said, "I am so tired and I want to go home." We know he is exalted to a high degree for his life was such as to deserve it. We have more than ever to live for now, that we may be better prepared to go to him. Rev. Reynolds, whom he loved very much, preached his funeral sermon and a loving tribute he paid to him saying that he was a better man himself from having known Brother Allen. His daughter.

ALLEN, Sue B. - Mrs. Sue B. Allen died Friday of heart failure at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O.T. Geise. Funeral services were held Saturday at the home and were conducted by Rev. Reynolds of Bentonville and Rev. Arnett of Rogers. Interment was in the Bentonville cemetery. Mrs. Allen, who was seventy-two years old, came to Rogers last winter from Bentonville with Mr. Geise and family. She was a most estimable woman and her death is greatly regretted by all who knew her.
