DORA — J.D. English, 75, of Dora died Monday, May 14, 2001, in his home. He was a retired farmer and was Pentecostal. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Dora Assembly of God Church in Dora with burial at Dora Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland. He is survived by his wife, Sophia; two sons, Richard English of Dora and Dick English of Sallisaw; three sisters, Learl Turner of Roland, Emily Pierce of San Jose, Calif., and Johnnie Mae Bond of Van Buren; five brothers, Jack English of Roland, Bill English of Muldrow, Earl English of Dora, Odell English of Jenny Lind and Ed English of Cameron; two granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Private family viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Times Record Online

Sophia Marie (Barnes) English was born October 15, 1926 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Noah Dallas Barnes and Gloda Lee (Long) Barnes. She married J.D. English on August 7, 1948 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2001 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Mrs. English passed this life on August 11, 2010 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas after having attained the age of 83 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Survivors are:
2 sons: Richard and Rhonda English of Dora, Oklahoma
Dick and Carolyn English of Sallisaw, Ok.
2 granddaughters: Ginger Wagh of Dallas, Tx.
and Melody English of Van Buren, Ar.
1 great granddaughter: Brooklynn Massey
1 sister: Bea Allen of Sallisaw, Ok.
4 brothers: Easter Barnes of Muldrow, Ok.,
Robert Barnes of Muldrow, Ok.,
Earl Barnes of Ft. Smith, Ar.,
and Dale Barnes of Sallisaw, Ok.
She was preceded in death by her husband: J.D. English,
