January 19, 1878 - March 12, 1947
Mrs. Mary E. Byars, aged 69 years, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. D. Merchant, of Trinity, Texas. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Tom Wright of Camden, and Mrs. C. D. Merchant of Trinity, Texas; one son, W. C. McMahen of Camden; her mother, Mrs. M. E. Belcher, of Red Oak, Oklahoma; six sisters, Mrs. Jim Chidester of Camden, Mrs. N. C. White of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Alice Jones of Palm Beach, Florida, Mrs. M. D. Stracner of Birmingham, Alabama, Mrs. Jim Walsh of Gary, Indiana, and Mrs. O. D. Merideth of Wilburton, Oklahoma; two brothers, R. O. Belcher of Red Oak, Oklahoma, and Ed of the Merchant Marines; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Proctor's Chapel with Rev. J. L. Dedman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Proctor's in charge. Active pallbearers; Leslie Walker, Murray Warnock, Joe Martin, T. E. Webb, Red Coleman, and Everette Koontz.
