Visitation for Arthur Theodore Moody of Jordan will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Mr Moody died Tuesday (Dec 29, 1987) at Calico Rock Health Care Center. He was 83.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wise's Chapel with Brother Price Lovelace and Brother Mike Haney officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery with Robert Dale Skidmore, Frank Tilley, Phillip Farmer, Rex Dockins, J. A. Lane and Floyd Moody serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include George Clark, Carl Dickerson and George Mellon.
He is survived by his wife of the home; five sons, Howard Moody of Warsaw, Mo., Doyle Moody of Pawhuska, Okla., Earl Moody, Jerry Moody and Larry Moody, all of Jordan; two daughters, Delfie Mellon of Jordan and Faye Dockins of Dolph; two brothers, William Moody of Bakersfield, Mo., and Garland Moody of Pineville; three sisters, Elsi Drowns of Batesville, Wrebel Ivie of Melbourne and Mary Brown of Pineville; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, one daughter, two brothers, a half-brother; three sisters and one grandson.
Mr. Moody was born Feb. 4, 1904 at Leigh, Okla., to the late William and Deliah (Williams) Moody. He was a retired construction worker. He and the former Dola L. Herron were married Aug. 5, 1926 at Crossroads. He was a member of Wise's Chapel Church.
