Fred T. Luker Dies At 63

Fred T. Luker, 63, a former area man who lived in Modesto City, Calif., died Saturday.

He was born April 27, 1908, in Dardanelle, Ark. He was retired from Jones Truck Line of Springdale.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Luker of Modesto City; three sons, Leon Luker of Fort Smith, Dr. Jack R. Luker of Rogers, and Tom Luker of Rogers; three daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Leona) Wilson of Springdale, Mrs. Nancy Morgan of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Neil (Ina) King of Empire, Calif.; two brothers, Herman Luker of Dallas, Ore., and Ray Luker of Rogers; three sisters, Mrs. Faye Adair of Ponca City, Okla., Mrs. Willia Ritchie of Ponca City, and Mrs. Evelyn Henley of Lebanon, Ore.; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sisco Chapel in Sprindale. Burial arrangements are pending.

SPRINGDALE — Mabel E. Luker, 88, of Springdale died June 7, 2002, in Springdale.

She was born July 15, 1913, in Fayetteville to Thomas A. and Alta Cordelia Carter Coldwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Luker, foreman of JTL Truck Lines from 1935-1968; one son, Fred Leon Luker; one brother, S.A. Coldwell; and one sister, Willa Mae Sexton.

Survivors include two sons, Jack R. Luker and wife Joy of Rogers, Thomas G. Luker and wife Fina of Omaha, Texas; three daughters, Leona M. Wilson and husband Bobby R., Nancy L. Morgan, Ina L. King and husband N. Neil, all of Springdale; one sister, Florence June Rogers of Springdale; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.

Memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice in Fayetteville.

She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed.
