Martha E. McGarrah

SPRINGDALE — Martha E. McGarrah, 84, of Springdale, Ark, passed away Saturday, April 9. 2011. at Windcrest Health and Rehab in Springdale, Ark.

She was born on Aug. 25, 1926, in Webbers Falls, Okla., a daughter of Ira and Ocie Mounce. Martha retired from Allen Canning Co. and attended church services at Windcrest Health and Rehab. Martha enjoyed fishing, crafting and cooking for family gatherings; she was very talented. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Columbus James McGarrah; a daughter, Alice Drymon; a son-in-law, Harvey Lee Fanning; two brothers; and two sisters.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Lois Fanning: one son, Carl McGarrah and wife, Eliza, all of Lowell, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harlon Mounce and wife, Jesse, of Lowell, Ark., and Truman Mounce and wife, Betty Jo, of Springdale, Ark.; and two sisters, Dorothy Cook and Carol June Calico, both of Springdale, Ark.

Services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Ark., with committal service to follow at Bluff Cemetery.
