SCOTT, Malinda – (from Elkhorn) Mrs. Malinda Scott, better known as Aunt Linda or Grandma Scott, died at her home at Elkhorn Tavern January 18, 1922. She had been in poor health for some time and became bedfast a few weeks before her death. She was born in Tennessee on June 16, 1830, age 91 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was married to Lorenzo Don Scott in the year of 1845; to this union was born seven children, five boys and two girls. Her husband and four of her children having preceded her to the great beyond. She joined the Christian church at an early date, belonging seventy-six years. Was a faithful member up to her death. She lived to see the fifth generation. Funeral services were held at Elkhorn Tavern, January 19th at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Revs. I.D. Ames and B.R. Williams, after which the body was laid to rest in the Ford cemetery.
