SPRINGDALE — Clarence Howard Ables, 92, of Springdale died Jan. 29, 2007, at Springdale. He was born Jan. 11, 1915, in Galloway, Mo., to Charles and Bessie Mead Ables.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was retired from the Air Force and had worked as a janitorial foreman for 10 years at Northwest Medical Center. He enjoyed music and was leader of a band who played for nursing homes and senior citizen centers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Ables, in 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Ables of Dayton, Texas, and Eugene Ables of North Little Rock; one daughter, Janice Maider of San Antonio; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at National Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Gene Fulcher officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale, online at www.memfuneral.com.
