TANNER, Omer H. - Omer H. Tanner, aged 33 years, a prominent Bentonville business man, passed away Tuesday afternoon following an operation Sunday morning for appendicitis. A few days previous to the operation he had complained of not feeling well and on Friday was compelled to leave his place of business and return home. The funeral services were held at the Christian Church yesterday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. George B. Kellems, conducting the services. Interment was made in the City Cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and the church was filled to its capacity. Services at the grave were held by the Masonic Lodge of Bentonville, the members attending in a body. Mr. Tanner was born in Manchester, Tenn. in 1897. He located in Berryville where he met and married in 1925 Miss Stella Dodson. A year later they moved to Bentonville where Mr. Tanner purchased a half interest in the Whitlock Plumbing and Supply Company. A year or so later he purchased Mr. Whitlock's interest in the business and changed the name to the Tanner Plumbing & Supply Company. By his hard work and integrity he built up a good business, obtaining the people's confidence and making many friends. Besides his widow he is survived by a daughter, Dorothy, aged three years, his parents and two sisters.
