Arthur Langston
Arthur Langston was born February 18, 1917 to Samuel and Lily Gentry Langston. His family soon moved to Oklahoma and his mother and baby brother died in childbirth. Arthur and his brother Orville Langston went to live with Chess, Gert and Sarah Gentry in Dolph.
Arthur married Hazel Sanders in September 1948. Arthur and Hazel had three daughters, Marcia, Deborah and Maxcine and one son, Chester Roy. Arthur was a farmer, sawmill worker and retired from Baxter Lab in Mountain Home in 1972. He was a member of Trimble Campground Presbyterian Church in Dolph.
Preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Nancy; two daughters, Deborah Langston Baker and Maxcine Langston and one son, Chester Roy Langston. Also his parents, three step brothers and two step sisters.
His daughter, Marcia and Husband, Junius Lawrence reside in Mountain View. Arthur has three granddaughters, Melani Lawrence Willis, Melissa Baker Wallace and Annetta Lawrence Caudill. Melani and husband, Mark Willis live in Mountain View, Melissa and husband, Darrell Wallace live in Conway; Annetta Lawrence Caudill and husband Ron Caudill live in Reeds Spring, Mo. Arthur has four great grandsons, Blake and Spencer Willis of Mountain View and Chase and Harley Caudill of Reeds Spring, Mo. He has one great grand-daughter, McKinley Wallace of Conway.
Arthur will be greatly missed by family and friends. We were so blessed by our Heavenly Father to have known and loved Arthur. We thank God for His love, guidance and for this beloved man, Arthur Langston.
Arthur was 93 years, two months and one week old when he went home to be with our father.
Funeral service was Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial was at Trimble Campground Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 28, from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers: Junius Lawrence, Mark Willis, Ron Caudill, Darrell Wallace, Justin Sanders, Jerry Skidmore. Honorary pallbearers: Danny Edwards, Coy “Champ” Sanders, Larry Baker, Jesse Edwards, Charlie Hall, Jay Dixon, Ottie Russell, Joe Stephen, Bill Sanders, Orville Sanders, Ronnie Dockins and Jimmy Freeman.
