Perry S. Cooper Dies Unexpectedly Tuesday
Perry S. Cooper aged 75, well known and highly respected citizen of near Newburg, died rather suddenly Tuesday morning. He had left his home early in the morning, going to Brockwell to get a cow he had purchased. Becoming ill on his way back, he stopped at the Smart home to rest on the porch. He was accompanied home a short while later, but passed away about the time he reached his home.
Mr. Cooper was a native of Tennessee and had lived at Forty-Four for 32 years. A former chairman of the Izard County Welfare Board. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Troy and Horace Cooper both of Rogers, Roscoe Cooper of Forty-Four, Clarence Cooper of Wideman, and Shelby Cooper of Pine Bluff, and three daughters, Mrs. Annie Johnson of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Eugene Andruss of Forty-Four and Mrs. Gertrude Pinkston of Tuckerman.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the Oxford Methodist Church by Eld. G. W. Howard and burial was in Oxford Cemetery by Roller Funeral Service. Grandsons served as active pallbearers.
