BANKS, John - John Banks, well known tie inspector for the Frisco railway, was found dead in his room in Hotel Main, Rogers, last Saturday afternoon. He complained of feeling ill that morning and had retired to his room where his dead body was found later. Heart disease is given as the cause of his death. He was about 60 years of age. Mr. Banks was born and raised at Hiwasse where he had lived until a few years ago when he moved to Rogers. He had long been engaged in the tie business and was considered an expert judge of railroad ties. Thousands of ties had been inspected by him. Funeral services were held Sunday and burial made at Bethel cemetery south of Gravette. Besides his widow, who is an invalid in a sanitarium in San Antonio, Texas, he is survived by one son, his mother, Mrs. Mary Banks of Hiwasse, a brother, James Banks, cashier of the First National Bank of Gravette and a large number of relatives.
