MAIN, George - George Main, aged 23 years, died in a Rogers hospital early Friday morning from injuries received the previous afternoon when his Model T Ford left the road at the Panorama, eight miles southeast of Rogers and plunged 300 feet down the bluff. Besides a fractured skull he sustained internal injuries. Except for a few brief moments he was unconscious. He died on the day he was to have been married. The accident happened as Main, with his fiancee Miss Bessie Poor, living near Willola, were returning from Rogers where they had been shopping for their approaching marriage. Before going home they decided to motor out to the Panorama. In attempting to stop his car on reaching the spot, the brakes failed to hold and the car plunged over the steep bluff, lodging against a tree. Main was thrown out and the base of his skull was fractured when his head struck a stump. Just before the car ran over the bluff Miss Poor jumped out and was uninjured. She ran to the home of J. Dur, a half a mile away, and phoned to Rogers for help. Six men were required to carry the injured man up the almost perpendicular bluff. An ambulance brought the young man to Rogers. Funeral services and burial were held at the Phillips cemetery east of Rogers Sunday afternoon. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Main of the Frisco Springs community, a brother, Ross Main of Lowell and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Bridges of Lowell, also Miss Doris Main of the home, survive.
