Chief Bruce L. Mayfield, age 67, of Clarkridge, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born November 27, 1943 in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Henderson and Hattie (King) Mayfield.

Chief Mayfield married Janette Masters October 20, 1984, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He worked for Baxter Lab for 23 years and retired as a supervisor. He worked as a Baxter County Deputy and Head Jailer for several years, and worked as a police officer for the City of Flippin for several years and was appointed Chief in January of 2011. He was a member of the Kansas City Masonic Lodge.

Chief Mayfield is survived by his wife: Janette Mayfield of Clarkridge, two sons: OS1 (SW) David Bruce Mayfield USN Retired and wife Anita of Mountain Home and Chief Tim Mayfield and wife Kelly of Salesville, two daughters: Kimberly Hathoot and husband Shawn of Peoria, Arizona and Kris Nash and husband Scottie of Mountain Home, two brothers: Henderson Mayfield, Jr. and wife Sue of Kansas City, Missouri and Robert Mayfield and wife Marie of Raymore, Missouri, ten grandchildren: Sara, Nick, Betsey, Ryan, Jacob, Scottie, Katie, Mindy, McKenzie and Garrett and a great-granddaughter: Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Sonny Mayfield and two sisters: Beatrice Thompson and Neva Rash.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J. W. Ott officiating. A visitation will be Monday from Noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Galatia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
