Miss Shireen R. Jackson, 15, of Mayflower, a student at Mayflower Junior High School, died Monday of injuries suffered in an accident, the State Police said. The State Police said Jackson was traveling east on state Highway 89 near Mayflower Thursday when she lost control of her 1988 Plymouth, which spun into the path of another vehicle. Seat belts were in use and the roads were dry. She was a former Junior Miss Mayflower, a Baptist, and a member of the Mayflower basketball team. Survivors are her mother, Jane A. Jackson of Mayflower; her grandfather, Burl T. Jackson of Mayflower; and her great-grandmother, Pearl Jackson of Stuttgart. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Mayflower. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery by Roller-Mc Nutt Funeral Home of Conway.
