FORT SMITH — Wilson B. Wallis, 86, of Fort Smith, died Dec. 28, 2010, in Fort Smith.

He was retired Lieutenant and Assistant Troop Commander for Troop H of the Arkansas State Police in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean conflict, a member of the VFW, American Legion, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Elks and the UCT.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; three stepdaughters, Laurie Patillo of Greenwood, Alycea Jackson of Keller, Texas, and Gena Orr of Fort Gibson, Okla.; three stepsons, Jimmy, Joe and Bill Cox of Fort Smith; 14 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Bryce Wilson Wallis and Tommy Wallis.

Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Hart Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark., all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be members of Troop H of the Arkansas State Police.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Arkansas State Police.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
