Mr. Kevin Curran, 45, of Crossett died Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mr. Curran was a native of Dermott and a life long resident of Crossett. He worked as a Jailer for the Ashley County Sheriff Department and he was a former employee of Georgia-Pacific Chemical Mill. He was volunteer fireman for the North Crossett Fire Department, the Vice President of the Curran Hunting Club and he coached Little League Baseball for many years and had a huge impact on the kid's lives. He was a devoted husband and father and an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his Lord and Savior and was an active member of the Church of the Redeemer. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and won. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie & Sally Curran and David & Bonnie Sledge.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Belinda Greene Curran; two sons, Dustin & Slade Curran; his parents, Sam & Patsy Sledge Curran all of Crossett; a brother, Keith Curran and wife, Rhonda, of Tampa, Florida; a sister, Darlene Middlebrooks and husband, Rickey, of Crossett; two nephews, Josh Curran and wife, Laura, and Cole Curran; a niece who Kevin considered the daughter he never had, Cheyenne White; a great-nephew, Jackson Curran and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Church of the Redeemer.
Burial will be the Carlock Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Curran Hunting Club, c/o John Welch, 144 Shelton's Loop, Crossett, AR 71635. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Church of the Redeemer.
