James Lamont Wells, age 75, a resident of Dover, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born June 8, 1927, at Clarksville, to the late John Paul "Pop" and Mettie Mae Baskins Wells. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Deaver Wells, who he married on May 13, 1952, at Dover.
Survivors include a son, Robert D. "Bobby" Wells of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula G. & Phillip Dollar of Houston, Texas; a brother, Robert Paul Wells of Paris, Arkansas; 2 sisters, Peggy Mock of Houston, Texas and Bette Poynter of Dover; 2 grandchildren, Robby Wells of Russellville and Summer Dollar of Little Rock, Arkansas; and other relatives and friends.
