December 21, 1956 - November 20, 1965
Richard Allen Evans, 8, died Saturday at 9:40 a.m. in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 21, 1956, Richard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris A. Evans of Rt. 2 El Dorado. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Randy Evans; one sister, Laurie Ann Evans; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard I. Evans; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Greer; two aunts, Mrs. Ferguson Hansen and Miss Sylvia J. Evans; six uncles, P.J. Greer, Johnny Greer, Howard A. Evans, Lloyd W. Evans and Clifford B. Evans, all of El Dorado and Dallas Evans of Houston, Tex. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Jones and Rev. Dewell Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. The six uncles served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Shuler McKinney, Dr. Henry Rogers and employes of Wheeling Pipe Line. (The El Dorado Times - November 22, 1965)
