March 20, 1891 - April 8, 1970
James Henry Lyons, 78, of Bearden died Wednesday morning in a hospital in Fordyce. He was a retired night watchman, a veteran of WWI and had made his home in Bearden for 48 years. Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Vance Lyons; one daughter, Mrs. Mary C. Massengale of Lafayette, La.; one sister, Mrs. Anna Duffy of Montgomery, La.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Chambersville Cemetery near Thornton. Proctors is in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - April 9, 1970)
