L, 6th Arkansas Cavalry, at Monticello, Arkansas, May 12, 1862; appointed first lieutenant, May 12, 1862; promoted captain, August 1, 1862; captured at Linn Creek, Missouri, October 25, 1864; confined at Gratiot Street Prison, St Louis, Missouri; escaped at Vincennes, Indiana, and rejoined his command in Texas; born in Alabama, January 6, 1835; died at Jones, Louisiana, March 14, 1913; buried in Parkdale Cemetery, Ashley county, Arkansas; married Mary J.; listed in Drew county 1860 census; occupation farmer; brother of Private William P. Wolfe.
